William Clay Sanders is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Atlas Group, a firearms training and shooting competition company built on the belief that “training breeds competition and competition breeds training.” A prior Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air National Guard and former patrol deputy, Will brings more than two decades of military and law enforcement experience to the range. His background includes serving as Combat Arms NCOIC and S3 Operations NCOIC for a Security Forces Squadron securing F-35’s, where he led instructor development and directed base-wide firearms training programs. Will’s experiences in civilian law enforcement solidified his commitment to building a culture of disciplined, performance-driven training through The Atlas Group.

Under Will’s leadership, The Atlas Group has rapidly grown into a regional hub for serious shooters and competitors, hosting 75 competitions in 2024 and expanding to more than 110 scheduled matches in 2025. In addition to competitions, the company delivers structured civilian and law enforcement firearms instruction and instructor development, while supporting local charities and shooting sports organizations. Will also works with a federalized nonprofit foundation dedicated to combating child sex trafficking, supporting efforts to protect vulnerable populations and disrupt exploitation networks. Through a relentless focus on measurable performance and competitive excellence, Will continues to build an ecosystem where accountability, repetition, and competition drive results.
